Larkin University and our College of Biomedical Sciences hosted this year’s symposium of the South Florida Chapter of the American Chemical Society SOFLACS-CCS-2019 on the topic “Chemistry of Life: From Small to Macromolecules”. Two days of exiting lectures reporting cutting-edge biomedical and pharmaceutical research, intense scientific networking with close to a hundred registered participants from the Miller School of Medicine at UM, the Wertheim College of Medicine at FIU, the science and biochemistry department at FIU, the University of Miami, Nova Southeastern University, Barry University, Miami Dade College, Palm Beach Atlantic University, Larkin University and international speakers from Ann Arbor, Michigan and Central Europe. 37 student posters competed for the best poster awards that this time went to FIU, NSU and Barry University, and three students got a chance to present their results in a short talk to the community! Thanks so much to all the invited speakers, the scientific organizing team at SOFLACS, our poster judges, and last but not least to our fantastic local organizing team that made this wonderful event happen and a huge success!
