Teaching Interests:
Dr. Sakharkar’s teaching interest and experience spans a range of subjects, including research methods, statistics, epidemiology, pharmacoeconomics, health outcomes assessment, and health policy.
Scholarly Interests:
Dr. Sakharkar’s research is focused on economic analyses of drug therapy and pharmaceutical care. His research further extends to secondary database analysis and exploring health outcomes in renal transplant patients. Additionally, he delves into patient-reported outcomes and contributes to the policy evaluation of health programs and healthcare services.
Dr. Sakharkar is the Director of the Graduate Program in Social and Administrative Sciences and an Associate Professor in the Department of Clinical and Administrative Sciences at Larkin University College of Pharmacy. Before joining Larkin, he was a tenured associate professor at Roosevelt University College of Pharmacy.
Dr. Sakharkar is well-published with contributions to peer-reviewed international journals and has presented at national and international conferences. He plays a crucial role as a reviewer for many pharmacy and healthcare research journals. Notably, he received recognition as an outstanding reviewer from the Journal of American Pharmacists Association (JAPhA) and Research in Social and Administrative Pharmacy (RSAP). He has also served on the editorial advisory board of JAPhA.
