Walgreens, the leading pharmacy chain in the United States is giving back to the community with a $10,000 donation to Larkin University College of Pharmacy. The donation is going to be specifically used for the 2nd White Coat Ceremony being held at the Miramar Cultural Center on Saturday, August 12th 2017 at 12:00 p.m.
White Coat Ceremony, a rite of passage for many health care professionals, including pharmacists, traces its roots to Columbia University College of Physician and surgeon. In 1995, the tradition was brought to the profession of pharmacy by the University of Kentucky College of Pharmacy. Today, nearly all pharmacy schools hold a white coat ceremony to welcome the first year (P1) students into the profession.
